Signifer Signs

I had a choice between doubling down on neon and getting out, and I've chosen to get out. This show is a retrospective of the ten years I've spent making commercial neon signs and fine art. I used to enjoy the contradiction between criticizing capitalism and making neon signs. It is a delicious irony and neon is a wonderful material. I love the mundane power of making lightbulbs by hand and the sucker-punch of the anti-signs.

We live in an apocalyptic world that is getting hotter and more unstable every year, and it is time to do something more meaningful.
