Colson Signs Was established in 1929 as the premier sign company in Idaho Falls, ID and remains a fixture in the area to today. In the early '30's Colson Signs began hand-lettering and hand painting logos for the advertising billboards surrounding "Highland Park" the local baseball field in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Colson Signs was founded on honesty and hard work.
Fred Colson traveled from town to town in the Upper Snake and Salmon River Valleys painting ads on buildings, billboards and vehicles for Coca-Cola, Royal Crown Cola, Budweiser and Coors as well as Challenge and Meadow Gold dairies. Fred also painted for many more national brands, as well as countless local merchants. No job was too big or too small.
Some of the old Colson signs still remain in the Idaho Falls area! When Fred's sons were old enough, their sign building and painting education began while traveling with their. Colson Signs continues the almost lost art of hand-painting and hand lettering. Colson Signs has successfully integrated different types of sign fabrication and manufacturing.
