All of our interpreters are state or nationally certified, liability insured and employees of Services by Vital Signs, Inc. Interpreting in a legal setting requires advanced interpreting competence to ensure "clear and effective" communication. Services by Vital Signs, Inc. helps our customers communicate effectively and efficiently with their consumers, patients or employees who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-blind (Tactile communication) that rely on American Sign Language (ASL).
Our highly skilled interpreters are state and/or nationally certified, liability insured and all are employees of Services by Vital Signs, Inc. Vital Signs does not use independent contractors or non-certified interpreters.
If you are calling to request an interpreter for someone who is Deaf and visually impaired, it's imperative we are informed in advance so we can ensure you have a skilled tactile interpreter if one is needed.
Interpreting request that are 1.5 hours or longer, such as workshops, training sessions, lectures, etc. may require two interpreters.
The teaming allows interpreters to switch roles every 15-20 minutes which will help reduce physical fatigue and avoid possible repetitive motion injury.
If your appointment runs over the time you have scheduled, your interpreter will only be able to stay longer if their schedule permits.
Please allow one of our knowledgeable specialist to assist you in determining the best solution for your interpreting needs.
If the duration of the interpreting services you are requesting exceed 1.5 hours (Classes, workshops, lectures, conferences, training sessions, stage productions, etc.) and consist of continuous dialog, you may require more than one interpreter.
Please speak to one of our specialist to determine if applies to your request.
If the appointment is cancelled with a 24 hours notice or more than one full working day notice there will be no charge.
If you have questions, consult an attorney who is knowledgable about Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other laws pertaining to disability rights.
Please be aware that many lawyers have little or no experience in this field.
