Family-owned and operated since 1979, Accent Sign & Awning has grown its business to serve customers nationwide from its 50,000-square-foot facility in Houston. Founded by Victoria Giannukos as Houston Canvas & Awning Co., the business purchased neighboring Accent Sign & Graphics and became Accent Sign & Awning Co. in 2010. Today her sons, John, Dimitri and George, manage the growing company.
The family believes that customer service, on-time delivery and quality products separate Accent Sign & Awning from its competitors. The family also owns Houston Uniform & Apparel at the same location, giving customers a complete line of branded, handcrafted products, from signage and awnings to work uniforms and corporate apparel. As President of Accent Sign & Awning Co., John oversees all aspects of operations.
He began as a teenager, working in the family business as an installer. From 1994-2001 he was with investment banking firm Harris, Webb, & Garrison, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMHG), where he became a partner.
