In consultation with model building code officials, state fire marshals and local building inspection officials, a sign has been developed which satisfies the requirement for identification of rated walls. On behalf of Firewall Signs, Inc., I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce ourselves to you, and provide some information relating to our business.
Firewall Signs is a firewall labeling business, and since our formation in 2004, has become a nationwide producer and distributor of firewall signs for labeling rated walls, smoke partitions and/or barriers. Our signs are made of vinyl with an adhesive backed construction, featuring a peel and stick application for efficiency. The signs are 11.25" high by 15.25" wide.
Pursuant to Section 703.7 of the 2015(most current version) International Building Code, which was adopted in 2015, all marking and identification of firewalls, fire barriers, fire partitions, smoke barriers and smoke partitions or any other wall required to have protected openings or penetrations shall be effectively and permanently identified with signs or stenciling in the concealed space.
